Contextual Advertising
Google AdSense is by far the most famous, and I will admit the very best example of Contextual Advertising there is.It is true that riches have been made from it,that it has changed the internet in many positive ways, and some would say negative ways as well.
However-is contextual advertising the right approach for your situation?.Many times contextual advertising;which are ads that are reflective of the content of a website, can work against the best interests of that site.
Why would you wish to have ads of your competitors on your page? To me that is saying you admit your products are second rate,so you are offering your visitors choices. However AdSense claims that their contextual ads are of relevant interest to the readers-resulting in a higher CTR(Click Through Ratio i.e.. the number of clicks received per hundred visitors) for you the Webmaster to enjoy. I agree their technology is far superior to others who claim to do the same, but I disagree with their claim of higher CTR.
In fact I shall show in later posts that using contextual advertising actually lowers your CTR and your potential income
When deciding what type of adverting you should use on your website there is unfortunately no fixed criteria to help you decide.I used to advise on the basis that if you feel that you are of at least normal intelligence and are familiar with current events and affairs then I would advise one way;if on the other hand you would rather have something that is hands free and requires no thought or input and your site is rich in keywords I used to advise another way.
Google has promoted a wonderful campaign to convince us that they are thee answer and that they, and only they; through their AdWords program, were capable of deciding what is best for us.
The off-shot of this is that it has started a wide held believe that we simply are not capable enough to know whats interests our visitors,or even what is good for us.Perhaps you may not think of it in those terms, but that in fact that is what it all means.
AdSense, naturally so,wish that we leave the choices of advertising selections to them, and their automated program, the “spiders”,or as they more properly called, web crawlers or web robots.
What the spider, simply put, does is scan your website and based on the number and types of links, repeated and emphasized words and phrases, will determine the topic of your site, and from that deduce that anyone viewing your site will wish to view ads on those subjects. That is actually true in many cases-but is that the best thing for YOU and your site?
AdSense has by far the best and smartest of “spyders”,which is their greatest strength, though,as I will show, it is also one of their greatest weakness as well.
Weakness? Yes-as I will explain in my next post : Contextual Plus

ppc advertising is really an efficient way to sell affiliate products on the internet, you can really get targeted buyers .
ppc advertising is cost effective when you want to promote products online”.
PPC advertising is very popular these days because of Google~-,
My partner and i associated with search engines, thanks for creating this particular, had been just what had been for you to find!
my PPC advertising on Google Adwords is really effective in promoting my affiliate links. my Adbrite PPC advertising cost seems to be higher than Adwords.`*”
I guess that I have a unique situation, my website serves a dual purpose. It is both a Muti-Level-Marketing program (GDI) as well as a shopping mall with over 200 pages.
I once had an adsense account, but due to the fact that my preferred method of advertising is using FREE traffic sources, such as manual traffic exchanges, paid to click advertising and safelist advertising, my account was canceled. The case then as now is that I being on a very fixed income can’t afford to do the PPC advertising.
The other problem with Adsense was and still is that they don’t like some of the organizations that I choose to associate with and place their banners on my site. (Which I think is truly unfair, I should be able to monetize my site any way I can.)
But I will try one more time to please them, not that they were doing all that much to please me. It was not like I was getting a lot of traffic from Google, the truth is I was getting very little.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading.
