PostHeaderIcon Chasing the Keyword Dream

It all sounds so simple-all you need to do is create a free blog, join AdSense, write an article about Mesothelioma and you will soon be getting $20.00 clicks. It must be true-everyone is doing it.I just did a Google Search of “blogspot.com/mesothelioma” and there was 79,300 results.Include all the blogspot.com with mesothelioma in the topic but not the first word of the URL and there are  538,000 results.

Every single one of those fell for the Keyword dream-and every single one is still waiting. Not one ever was paid a $20.00 click-or most likely anything more them $1.50-and that not for a long time.I have tried to find one of those blogs that is actually an original content written by a person that has actually had the dreaded disease,or at least a memorial to a family member, all to no avail.

My point?Blogs are not ever going to deliver the epc that the hype leads many to believe, and that in fact free blogs are the worst place to ever try and chase the high paying keywords. They have never been good, but now with all the new emphasis on Page Rank, they are even worse.

Blogspot, and all such free hosted blogs will never be given page rank,so will never be even considered for high paying clicks,in fact never before as it been so advantages to dump your blogs and work on your own hosted domain.

An ad click on Blogspot may pay you 3 cents, where the exact same ad on this site will pay me as much as 7 cents, due to the fact this site was designed and installed every step of the way with SEO in mind blogspot is not even considered for ranking.

Advertisers are well aware of the number of blogs made with only one purpose in mind-to attract ads and deliver nothing in the way original content in return. No longer are they willing to pay high prices to advertise on them, and since they are all one domain it is impossible to grant some decent pay and others poor pay-this they all get poor pay now.

There will always be a place for a blog-if your blog is about you and you use it to vent and to socialize etc, writing your own material only have a couple of ads to pick up the odd dollar.

However if it is your intention to use your site to try and earn an income from 3rd Party Advertising-then you would be very very wise to abandon your free hosted blog, register yourself your own domain name, find your self a good host-buy or design a proper SEO ready website and start moving your material-or even better-write some new original material.

I promise, the increase in your epc will more then cover all of your costs, and then you can finally chase the high paying Keywords without it being a dream.

That is wonderful that you get some great paying clicks on your blog-but that as nothing to do with the facts in this article.

In fact-high paying clicks just mean you are losing even more money then most

If you receive $3.00,then if you had the same material, same template etc on your own domain, with the same traffic etc you would have received between $3.60 and $4.20 for that click-how many of those does it take to pay for a host and domain?

You can buy a dot com domain name at auction for as low as 99 cents, get unlimited hosting for $8.00,so there is no reason in the world for someone earning like you do to be still using blogspot.

Also-may I ask how long you have had your blog and how many times Google as paid you?

Great analysis MrAdVenture. Your site is a real gold mine for PPC publishers like me. I had been looking for some good adsense alternatives for some time now. The majority of the sites that I came across had just general stuff, mostly outdated or copy pasted from other sites. What I needed was a thorough review by someone who has actually used it. When I read your site I told myself that here’s is someone who knows what he is taking about. Your site was exactly what I needed. You not only have a good experience as a PPC publisher you also have a good knowledge about the inner workings of PPC companies. I took some great tips from your site today. Thank you for your effort. Keep up the good work.
