AlternateUrl
AlternateUrl was originally just used only as an edit for your AdSense code so there were no PSA ads showing on your sites.
Public Service Ads;which are ads that Google and others ad sources sometimes shows when their software fails to find a suitable ad based on your pages keywords, meta tags ,traffic, and other factors are deemed by some as unworthy content and they do not wish to display them, and in their stead wish only paying ads.
You simply had to add a link to your AdSense code and your days of unpaid PSA ads were over.Just how the text ad I and so may others use came to be is not well known.Perhaps a few curious publishers discovered that with a simple edit they could have text ads of their own, even over riding Google’s keywords,or a deliberate plan by owner of AlternateUrl,either way a new 3rd Party Ad source was created.
I could, like all the other so called AdSense Alternative websites out t,here could now simply copy/paste the information from the signup page and fill the space here and call this review done. That however would not be living up to my own billing-that of providing you with in-depth and honest reviews. It would also leave you not knowing a lot of information that will help you earn the best epc possible,as well as other helpful tips.
The first year or so of AlternateUrl life the ads were pretty limited,to even to be able to change color of your ads you had to open a second account-I know of some who had seven or eight accounts just so they could match the ads to the different pages of their sites. The only real problem with this other then needing to have all these different logins,we that each account needed to reach the minimum payout (of $50.00) on it’s own.Thankfully those days are over, and with some relatively simple editing you can have any color and size of ad you wish, even picking your own five keywords rotating in each ad.
They have more then one feed source, and which one you are given is really up to you. How?Normal things-traffic,site design, free host such as Blogspot vs paid hosting and an original domain name all come into the mix.
AlternateUrl,unlike AdBrite,BidVertiser and some others, does not serve you with their own advertising. You do not see the typical “Your Ad Here” link-simply because they use feed partners to provide you with ads.Since they do have to rely on others for the ads, they also must obey the TOS of others, and that can make them more strict in some ways.
While not known for excessive banning,it is known for little tolerance for any suspicious activity and or traffic. As with all ad sources, never click your own ads, never place sites with ads on any of those manual “exchanges” or entice others to visit your ads.Provide a wide selection of ads in a neat manner and you will do just fine, the public is a curious lot,and as long as you have something of interest on your site so they will stay and read a bit, most will find something that they are serious about.
Unless of course all you have are contextual ads like AdSense, then you will of course earn less from normal traffic, and will only do well if your site also has great SEO
From my most recent research AlternateUrl seem to only have two levels of feeds, the decent we trust you and like your website feed and they we do not like nor trust you feed. That maybe an over simplification of the intricacies that go into such a decision, but it is paints a picture that I think almost anyone can grasp the meaning of.
This is why one publisher may be paid 50 cents for a click on an ad,while another will only receive 0.5 cents for a click on that same ad.Start with a good domain of your own, with original content on a website of decent design and then play by the rules and you should do well.
I would,if I had sites of great design and traffic etc, have one account for that, and another account for any mediocre low quality sites.I am not sure what the feeling of management would be on that arrangement, but since they allow multiple accounts, and there is no real deception involved I can not see it being an issue.
Support from them has always been good, they have a great referral program where you earn 10% of the income of your downline for life, they are PayPal supported with a $50.00 minimum payout. If you are given the top feed when you join,I advise you to try and maintain it,avoid questionable practices, and as always-never ever place your ad sites on any of those so called exchanges out there..
I will end by encouraging you to sign up for the newsletter to the left, and then to Join AlternateUrl Here
